All Saints Choir of Men & Boys
All Saints Choir of Men and Boys, directed by Frederick Backhaus, consists of boys aged 7
to 18, most of whom live in Dorchester, and professional and volunteer singing men from
the greater Boston area. The choir is a ministry of All Saints which strives to give
urban boys a safe place in which to make lasting friendships and to develop a keen
awareness of themselves, of the world around them, of beauty, and of compassion. The
choir sings almost every Sunday morning at All Saints during the school year, featuring
the best in sacred music from 800 AD to the present. In addition, it seeks to enrich
the life of the greater Boston community through its concerts and recordings. Auditions
for boys 7-10 years old are held throughout the year. For more information, please
contact us at (617) 436-3520 ext 212. The Choir has made a number of
recordings, see below for more
information
All Saints Parish Choir consists of women and girls of All
Saints Church who sing on Sunday mornings in the summer and on occasion during the
school year, when they are joined by members of the Men and Boys Choir.
Ashmont Hill Chamber Music, Rachel Goodwin, Founder and
Artistic Director, is in its 18th season of presenting varied programs balancing
innovative works, some never before or rarely performed, with traditional classic
chamber music, both vocal and instrumental. Their regularly appearing performers
include members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston University faculty members.
This season, they will expand their interactive educational concerts for the children
of the community with the assistance of The Codman Square Health Center, as well as
bring music to the residents of local chronic care facilities.
